At Douglas Automotive & Engineering you will find a dedicated team who specialise in everything automotive. From car restoration, servicing, WOF's, general vehicle repairs to full custom work, and all general engineering requirements, we've got you covered.
MEET THE TEAM
LISA DOUGLAS
Office Manager
Lisa originally came onto the team to help her brother Vince manage the office and administrative side of the business after the loss of his wife, and liked it so much that she decided to make her stay permanent. She enjoys getting to work with her brother every day. Lisa loves spending time with her family and her horses to unwind outside of work.
VINCE DOUGLAS

Vince had been working in the industry for 15 years doing a wide range of automotive and engineering jobs, here in NZ and overseas.
At that stage it was time to make his own name in the industry with the help of his wife Coralie, they started Douglas Automotive back in 2003, and with the thanks to our staff and his wife the business has grown from strength to strength.
Vince takes great pride in every job that passes through our doors, whether it be a simple oil change or a high end rebuild.
At 18, Vince brought and rebuilt his own ’32 Ford Roadster, that is where the passion for restoration and eye for detail started along with his apprenticeship training from the best garage around - KG McLeod in Dunedin.
Now he has turned his lifelong dream of being able to bring over hand-picked cars from America into a reality. Vince loves building good long term relationships with customers, new challenges, and solving any problem that comes his way.
AUTOMOTIVE
ANDY
Service Manager
Andy joined our team to expand his already thriving career. With managing our Automotive division, he sure has lots on his plate and a choice team to work with.
Andy is not only awesome in our workshop but also on the drift track as well! When he's not at work, his time is usually spent on his 2 Silvias (one running an SR20 and one running an LS7 - can't resist a v8). Andy's been drifting for around 8 years, and in the last 5 years competed in D1 - You might see him on tv now and then!
ZARA
Apprentice Automotive Tech/Engineer
Zara is our up and coming rising tech - taking it for the ladies! She may be shy if the camera is out but her work week is packed with both Automotive and Engineering jobs. When she's not at work, she loves supporting motorsport (sometimes lending a hand in the pits) - in particular Drifting and Stock Cars.
Her newest project is starting to restore her 2003 Ford Courier.
GLENN
Automotive Technician
Glenn has always had an interest in working with machines, having done everything from installing a V8 engine in a Toyota Starlet to tuning the engine on a record breaking speed boat. His natural talent and eye for problem solving have carried him all the way from work experience at high school to where he is today. Glenn has previously spent 15 years specialising in Auto Air Conditioning, before finding his place here. He now is semi-retired and does the 'odd bit here n there' for us.
STUART
Honda Workshop Manager
Stuart has been working on Honda Vehicles for over 37 years! Over that time he has held the position of service and parts manager for over 19 years.
He has represented NZ in an Asia Pacific Technician Competition in Japan - which resulted in NZ coming 3rd!!
Stuart is proud to be a part of our team and continue to provide excellent service and parts to all Honda owners and can assist in the purchase of new Honda Vehicles.
Stuart said his hobbies are HONDA!!
DARRIUS
Automotive Technician
Darrius brings a light-hearted and playful nature to our team - always has a smile on his dial!
He has spent over 8 years working on Honda cars and now has joined our team at Douglas in July 2021.
He has a musical talent this fella, dabbling in piano and guitar - not to mention singing away in the workshop! You may have even seen him feature in local theatre - a man of many talents!
BRENDON
All Rounder
What would we do without Brendon! He keeps our workshop well-oiled and flowing. He's our dude for anything, whether it's tyres, grooming cars or helping out on major missions, he's the one for the job. Brendon's also an amazing breakdancer. A very smart lad with hidden talents.
ENGINEERING
BRADY
Engineer
Brady will be onto his 4th season racing his stock car this year so when he's not at work, he's either tending to his stockcar or out on the track. He's also super keen on anything bike related - whether its riding his KTM or Suzuki, he's in!
The list of toys keeps growing - He has a Hilux that's his dedicated 4wding vehicle aswell (might need a bigger garage!)
If he's not out in the mud or racing, Brady enjoys a cold Waikato beer or two.
Richard
Engineer, Air Con and Auto Sparky
Richard brings our team over 25 years experience in many aspects.
He is here to sort any Air Con, Auto Electrical or Engineering tasks just to name a few.
He's spent most of his life in Rotorua with his family.
Richard enjoys getting out on his KTM and GSXR and mountain biking.
This man of many talents has even built his own custom '65 Triumph Bobber!

Customer Care
Tracee loves being a part of the family business and takes pride in all the work she does.
She's super passionate about health & wellbeing which she brings along with her.
She also enjoys riding her dirtbike and woodwork - She has even built her furniture at home!
Trace has recently dived into the 4wd lifestyle. With building her Navara to hack off-road, she enjoys going out with other chics and seeing the beautiful sites around our amazing country.
Tracee also shares Vince and Lisa's loves for Fords! (Of course!)
